This is a good tasting, fluoride free toothpaste, which can be hard to find in stores.
However, the fact that some toothpastes contain sugar is rarely mentioned, but important, since sugar in toothpaste can of itself cause tooth decay, particularly if some of the toothpaste remains in the mouth.
It is unclear if the listed ingredients; "real fruit flavors", "fruit extracts; strawberry, banana, and other natural flavors" contain enough sugar to promote tooth decay.
This is a fluoride free toothpaste.
A level of about 1 part per million of fluoride is maintained in most public water supplies. Using a fluoride toothpaste increases fluoride intake when some is swallowed (almost unavoidable) and especially when children use it.
Do you want to increase a child's fluoride level to an indeterminate amount by using a fluoride toothpaste?
In school I wrote a thesis called, "The Effects of Fluorides on Living Enzyme Systems".
There is no question that mass fluoridation decreases dental decay. However, to sum up, I could not find a single enzyme system, plant or animal, which fluoride did not inhibit, or effectively poison; and that is a scary thing.

I have been buying this toothpaste for the last year, and my kids absolutely love it.
It is sooo much better than the "bubblegum" and "bubblefruit" flavors that other kids toothpaste comes it.
No artificial sweeteners is also a plus!
The kids seem to like the Silly Strawberry the best, but my daughter enjoyed the Outragous Orange Mango.
My only problem is the metal tube. As kids usually do, my children squeeze the tube from the center and with a metal tube it is difficult to straighten out. Really need a toothpaste tube key, but I can't seem to find one. Maybe Tom's of Maine should sell those too.

Generally speaking it is preferable to use natural products and avoid ingesting unnecessary chemicals but the downside of many "natural" products is the less than pleasant taste. This toothpaste is an exception to that. It actually tastes Good. I had no difficulty in getting my kids to try it and they prefer it to the better known commercial brands. Also they aren't getting overfluoridated as this product is fluoride free. (There is enough fluoride already in the water.) I am very satisfied with this product.

Here's a test. Go to [...] and compare the active ingredients of Pronamel to Crest Sensitivity. Then, compare the claims of both. Why does Pronamel claim to re-mineralize teeth, fight acidity, and be 'specially' formulated for people who drink sodas, wines, etc. and Crest does not? Answer: because EVERY TOOTH-PASTE REMINERALIZES TEETH and Pronamel does it no better. Just compare the active ingredients. Same amount of fluoride, tons of advertising.

My teeth have been getting the pitted indentations near the gumline for several years now. The front teeth edges have been slowly getting more and more transparent. The dentist only suggested I wear a mouth guard at night, which I have started doing. I saw a review of the ProNamel toothpaste and decided to start using it. I now have been using it exclusively for several months and I can tell you that I will not be using any other toothpaste. The teeth with the worst pitting are slowly improving! Myy teeth are becoming whiter and seem to be responding positively to this toothpaste. I buy four tubes at a time so that I don't run out. I have used all the whitening toothpastes and even the white strips and this toothpaste has served me well and I am exceptionally pleased. I highly recommend Sensodyne ProNamel toothpaste. It is worth the extra cost.

I bought this because of my sensitive teeth, and also because they're starting to become transparent on the tips. To start, it's a pretty expensive toothpaste, and you only get about 1/4 of what you'd find in a regular tube of Colgate. I paid almost $7.00 for a tube at Walgreens. It has a gritty look to it when it comes out of the tube. As soon as you put it in your mouth the chemicals start to attack your tastebuds. The flavor is just plain BAD.
I would use the product for 2 weeks, then take a one week break. I used the product for about 2 months. After brushing each time, it felt like my cheek lining was sloughing off in my mouth. Nothing changed. I didn't see any improvement in the transparency of my teeth, or their sensitivity. Infact, they felt a little more sensitive after brushing with product. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.
