This product has a refreshing minty taste and in a short time was very effective at reducing my tooth sensitivity. I'm a little concerned by a warning on the package that one of the active ingredients is associated with staining of the teeth, although the stains can be removed by a dentist.

Finally I've found a toothpaste. Most toothpastes for sensitive teeth leave a medicinal taste in my mouth and while most help with sensitivity, they don't make my mouth feel fresh and clean. Colgate Sensitive Maximum Strength covers all the bases. I was pleasantly surprised. When my dentist first recommended I try a paste for sensitive teeth even he admitted most left a bitter taste. I'll have to call and let him know what I've found!

I found the cap on the tube hard to open and the gel flows out so much faster than the toothpaste. It's almost impossible to get the recommended equal amounts. The taste was okay. Other sensitivity toothpaste I've used seemed to do a better job providing relief on some of my cold-sensitive teeth.

Putting aside my belief that different types of toothpaste are just marketing gimmicks, I just didn't care for this one. It was too foamy and its taste was bland. Applying the two ingredients in equal amounts was also hard to do -- the consistency was too runny and I usually ended up using too much. If I needed a toothpaste for sensitive teeth, I'd try something else.

My husband has sensitive teeth and tested this product. First off, putting a full inch of product on the toothbrush was difficult. Squeezing the middle of the tube in order to get the paste and gel evenly distributed onto the brush was also a practice in patience. The product didn't cause discomfort but the aftertaste was not the usual ""minty-fresh"" he normally experiences when using his regular toothpaste. Overall, he wasn't happy using Colgate Sensitive and was relieved to get back to his regular brand.

Regarding the product, I love it. I have sensitive teeth and I find toothpastes like Sensodyne to me unpleasant and cause a lingering bitter taste in my mouth. Colgate (and Aquafresh sensitive) does not. And it never causes tooth pain, so it works well.
Also, in grocery stores and drugstores, this usually costs close to $4, and sales are much rarer for sensitive toothpastes than they are for regular pastes, so it's never been cheap. But at today's price of $13.90, it works out to $2.32 per tube, which is cheap. The savings won't make or break you financially, but it's always nice to know you're getting a real bargain. I don't mind buying 6 at a time and storing them.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the product and very happy to see it here for this price, the cheapest I've ever seen it anywhere. 5 stars.
